''Sakib in public relations after getting the boat ticket''

Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of the national cricket team, is engaged in election public relations after becoming the candidate of Awami League for Magura-1 seat in the upcoming parliamentary elections. On Wednesday (November 29) around 12 noon, he reached his home area Magura for the first time with a fleet of vehicles. Thousands of people thronged the Garai Setu area to welcome Shakib.

Shakib went to the Awami League office in Magura and spoke to the party leaders and workers. He said, 'You all know that MP Saifuzzaman Shikhar of Magura-1 constituency has done a lot of work in the last five years. Even though I get nomination here, it is actually his seat. We both will work together. The two of us will take Magura further in the next five years.'

Boat candidate Shakib said that he still does not know the names of all the posts. "I am a student of class one in politics", his simple confession. He also said, 'When I hold the bat, as our coaches have taught me, if all the leaders of the Awami League, including the president, general secretary, support me, then I hope I can take Magura to a place like the number one all-rounder in the world.'

After leaving the party office, Shakib went to the Magura municipal cemetery with the leaders of the district Awami League. There he prayed for the peace of the late leaders of Awami League. After that, the captain of the national team joined the civic mass reception at the Bir Mukti Joddha Asaduzzaman Stadium. Desk report.
