The Election Commission (EC) issued show-cause notices to 21 people including three ministers and Awami League's nominated candidate cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and controversial MP Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury alias Nixon for violating the code of conduct.

Sources from the Election Commission Secretariat said on Thursday (November 30) that this number may increase. Meanwhile, those who have received notices have been asked to respond by Friday (December 1).

Among the mourners along with three ministers are Narayanganj-1 (Rupganj) Constituency Member of Parliament and Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastgir Gazi, Youth and Sports State Minister for Gazipur-2 Constituency Zahid Ahsan Russell and Dhaka-19 Constituency Awami League candidate, State Disaster Management and Relief Minister Dr. . Enamur Rahman.

Apart from this, the candidate for Natore-3 seat is Minister of State for Information and Communications Junaid Ahmed Palak, the candidate for Narsingdi-5 (Raipura) seat is former Post and Telecommunication Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju, the candidate for Gazipur-5 seat is former State Minister for Women and Child Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki, the candidate for Magura-1 seat is Awami League candidate (cricketer) Shakib Al Hasan, Jatiya Party presidium member Kazi Feroz Rashid, Dhaka-6 constituency candidate, Faridpur-4 (Bhanga-Sadarpur-Charbhadrasan) independent candidate and Jubo League presidium member Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury alias Nixon have also been asked to show cause.
