      Elephant dead on the hill in Cox's Bazar


The dead body of an elephant was found in the hill of Eidgaon upazila of Cox's Bazar.

On Friday (November 24) morning, locals found the dead body of this elephant at Shea Hill in Bhomariarghona area of Eidgaon. Later, the forest department officials went to the spot and buried the elephant in the ground after the post-mortem.

This information has been confirmed by the Range Officer of Eidgaon Forest Division. Anwar Hossain Khan.

He said the estimated age of the elephant is 45 years. The male elephant was postmortemed in the presence of a doctor and buried in the ground in the afternoon after collecting the necessary samples. The cause of death can be confirmed only after an autopsy. However, it is initially believed that the elephant was killed by being entangled in electric wires. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
