The Election Commission (EC) said that 2 thousand 741 people have submitted their nomination papers for 300 seats in the 12th National Assembly elections. Also, the EC mentioned that 30 registered political parties are participating in the elections.

The EC informed this information in a press release on Thursday (November 30) evening.

Earlier in the afternoon, EC Secretary Jahangir Alam told reporters at the media center of the election building in Agargaon of the capital that the predetermined date of November 30 was the last day for submission of nomination papers. The deadline for submission of nomination papers will not be extended, there is no scope for extension.

So the election is going to be held without BNPK? In response to such questions from journalists, the EC secretary said, "You understand that."

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced the schedule of the 12th National Assembly elections in his address to the nation on November 15 evening. November 30 is the last date for submission of nomination papers as per the announced schedule. Selection 1-4 December, last date of withdrawal 17 December, allotment of symbols 18 December. And the vote will be on 7 January 2024.
